My name is Mikinzie and I want to be a Public Relations professional.
Graduating in May 2010, I currently rock the house at Ferris State University. I’m majoring in Technical and Professional Communication, which is, to put it succinctly: professional writing that delivers.
Though I have built my skill set through TPC, my heart lies in PR and Marketing. Though I am not an official Public Relations student, I have self-taught myself a lot about PR, social media and getting a career.
However, I do not claim to be an expert nor do I claim to be right all the time. I’m still learning, just like you.
I created the PRepguide as a way to ask questions and get answers, measure my opinions and ideas against others and tell others what has worked (and not worked) for me.
I’m currently employed part-time as a PR/ News Writer and Marketing Assistant for Ferris State University Marketing and Communication (News Services and Media Relations dept).
I am published on the Ferris State University News Services Homepage, the Points of Pride newsletter, Ferris Magazine and in the local newspaper, The Pioneer Press of Big Rapids, Mich.
